Throughout the project journal entries were created to track and self asses our project.
Journal #1: Getting started
The purpose of this journal was to describe the beginning of our projects. It covered finding mentors, research paper topic ideas, reasons for this project, and more.

"Starting my project, I searched for a mentor in the veterinary field. I contacted different animal hospitals, soon getting a response from one in Stoughton, Ma that they would be willing to let me come in."

"Beginning my fieldwork I got to work alongside the vet working. Working with my mentor doing my fieldwork I’m learning lots of new stuff and gaining a hands on experience that will help me learn and know more about the field I’m interested in."

"With the help of my mentor I’ve been able to see everything from typical annuals to allergies, to more uncommon things like foreign bodies in the stomach and surgeries."

"Many fun positive times come from this job field, however when it comes to having to have the hard conversations with owners, especially those very attached to pets, it does have an impact on someone's day. Although it may not be your pet, being the one to have to tell someone it’s time for something they love to go is very challenging and upsets the vets."

Journal #3 This journal is similar to journal 2, it is addressing the end of our fieldwork and what we thought of our experience.
". I have been able to observe surgery, get hands- on experience, and understand doctor owner relationships. "
|
"One challenge I faced in completing my project was time management. WIth a part-time job, babysitting, schoolwork, and also this balancing how I was going to fit everything into one week was a challenge."
